Picture on an IPad Surprise

Got a friend named Susan Murtaugh who is a wonderful woman who did some wonderful/generous things for me and my family out of the kindness of her heart. She is an artist, traditional painter, graphic artist and now digital artist, specifically on IPad/IPods. Check out her art at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/suzi54241

I really wanted to surprise a thank you to her and so….. I took one of her digital paintings that she uses a lot on different print/marketing things ~ I just guessed she liked it a lot because she has used it a lot! I am showing her scaled down black and white drawing with cut out sterling pieces shown above. I wanted her drawing to be on an IPad as a pendant but I wanted the pendant to hang the long way so I had to modify the picture to fit.

Here is the mock up before soldering. The pendant is about 1 3/4 inches by 1 inch. The apple is for the back of the pendant.

This is the back and below is the final piece.

I mailed this to Susan and she got it today. She seemed to be over-joyed as I hoped she would be. Again, Thank You Susan for being an amazingly generous person, teacher and mentor to all artists, woman, children ~ anyone willing to learn with an open mind. Thank You so much for all you do. It does not go unnoticed or unappreciated!

Susan is an amazing person. Her generosity in teaching has enabled me to jump leaps in my own art. I love your choice of honoring her art with yours. The little apple on the back is a sweet touch. Elegant.
